Perez on 2022 targets: ‘Have to raise my game'

Sergio Perez has admitted he needs to raise his game for his second Red Bull season in 2022 after acknowledging “consistency” was an issue. Just over 12 months has elapsed since the Mexican became a Red Bull driver, selected as a more experienced team-mate to Max Verstappen than his predecessors Pierre Gasly and Alex Albon. For the most part, the decision worked, as recognised by Helmut Marko who would have been involved in the final say – especially as Verstappen ended up being crowned the 2021 Drivers’ World Champion.
