Mercedes will ‘maintain scepticism' as Lewis Hamilton chases 8th title
Lewis Hamilton and George Russell would never have thought going into 2022 that they would win a single race between them in their first season together. Unfortunately for the two Mercedes drivers, the W13 was sent down the wrong development path by the Silver Arrows, who struggled to understand what was needed to get the best out of the major regulation changes. A major porpoising problem essentially saw the team write off the 2022 season as they were forced to sacrifice half a seasons’ worth of development to stop the violent bouncing that was causing their drivers so much pain.
