Australian Grand Prix set for postponement

Bahrain is poised to become the new host of the Formula 1 2021 season opener as the Australian Grand Prix is set to be postponed. Motorsport.com are reporting that due to the continued strict travel restrictions in Australia and Covid-19 cases on the rise again with a new strain of the virus identified, the traditional curtain-raiser in Melbourne is set to be moved back until later in the year. The report also states that official news on the postponement is set to arrive before the end of January, when construction work usually begins on the street circuit around Albert Park.
