Horner: Red Bull weren't ready for Verstappen stop

Christian Horner praised Red Bull's pit crew after the Spanish Grand Prix, even though a four-second stop for Max Verstappen fell short of their usual high standards. Rather than being annoyed at a vital tyre change that took twice their normal time, Horner said the mechanics had reacted “incredibly well” because they were not expecting the car to come in when it did. On lap 24, with Verstappen leading the race but under pressure from Sir Lewis Hamilton, the Dutchman dived into the pits for what was scheduled at the time to be his only stop.
