Honda 'never discussed' potential U-turn to stay in F1
Article To news overview © Honda F1 Honda insist they "never had a discussion" to stay in Formula 1, despite the success of Red Bull and Max Verstappen in 2021 as they won the Drivers' Championship. Verstappen, who won 10 races this season, became the first Honda-powered driver to win the title since Ayrton Senna in 1991 by winning the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix with a dramatic last lap overtake on Lewis Hamilton. Honda announced they would leave the sport at the end of this year in October 2020, after spending seven seasons in F1's turbo-hybrid era.
